Hello, everyone. I’m happy to announce that the English Patch for Ayakashi Gohan is now complete!

Installation guide and error fixes are here. Whether you have or have not used this patch before, please read it as we don’t include a readme file in the patch download.

Updates and fixes:

  • Asagi’s text errors.
  • Manatsu’s text errors (more like nightmares).
  • Some grammar and spelling mistakes fixed.
  • You may now play multiple routes at a time, provided that you’re aware of the errors as stated in the installation guide.

Additional notes:

  • No copyright infringement intended.
  • The only way for the other characters to say Rin’s name is by letting the default kanji on, which is “凛”. If you don’t mind about name pronunciation, then you can use whatever name you’d like.
  • Some text are so long they actually went over the textbox, but you can read it fully in the text-log.
  • Please excuse some awkward translations or grammar/spelling errors here and there. This is a big game and we may miss a lot. ;;;

I would like to thank each and every one of you; the ones who helped translating, translation-checking, proofreading, re-inserting, script editing and those who helped with image-editing and game-programming — it’s been a long, windy and harsh road but you guys helped me through finishing this patch even though you all have your own problems and struggles to go through, and that’s what makes this journey of finishing the patch very meaningful to me.   1. I am trying to translate *Dynamic chord*, knowing that you also translated a HoneyBee game, can you show me how. I actually downloaded the Tool *HoneyBeeScriptTool*, I extracted Rio.arc, but now I have a problem with WSC files, I used MadEdit with SHIFT-JIS encoding, but I still have some weird symbols, I also tried UTF-8 and UTF-16, but if I am not mistaken HoneyBee is still using SHIFT-JIS.So please if you have some spare time, help mee !! (btw do you have a better way of translating ?)

  3. Hi, I applied the fix it patch, the rio and rio arc+ as well as the chip patch. Got the script to appear in English all the way up to the beginning of the first chapter after the prologue. Then everything went back to Japanese. I have no idea what i did wrong or was this only suppose to be a trial version and not the whole translation for the game? appreciate any help i can get. Thanks

  4. This game is excellent, but it’s a shame about the text bug (during the ending of Asagi’s route especially). Is there any chance it’ll be fixed eventually or is there already some fix for it that I’m unaware of? Thank you so much to everyone who worked on this patch! 🙂

  5. Everything worked fine for me until I got to the Ayakashi epilogue with Manatsu, the text started to shift (the name of the character was in the text box and the text was in the name box) and then it crashed 😦 is there anything to fix this?

    • I get this error too! Please help! I have completed Uta’s and Ibuki’s without any problem. Now I’m going for Suou’s and suddenly encountered this problem and the game just crashed. Any idea what went wrong?

        • mine already solved.
          i got this idea, you have to make a new save before it went crashed, closed the game, and then go to honeybee saved games, copy “save000” and paste it another folder [important], and then go to “save000 ORI place” delete it. open the game and load the save before crashed, after several text make a new save file again, closed the game, copy save000 in another folder that already you save, replace it in honeybee ORI place. open the game and load the new save file. repeat all of this action when you want to play a new route. sorry my english and tutorial really bad, i hope you understand it 🙂

      i got this idea, and it works for me

  9. is the script can suddenly missing? cause for the first time i played in some last month, it run very well that i can play uta,yomi, and hagi’s route until the ending.

  13. Congrats on finishing this patch!! I’ve been playing the game in Japanese and because of this patch, I can share the experience with my friends who need to be able to read in English.

    Would I be able to reach out with some questions about how to extract/reinsert for otome games? I’m interested in contributing to projects like this but would like to learn a little first about that process :>

  15. For some reason, while playing Manatsu’s route (right before I entered his epilogue) the game started crashing. I found that if I don’t go into the log it won’t crash, but some of the conversations were messed up so I wanted to look back at it. I’m still going to play of course and thanks so much for the patch! But thought you might like to know.

    first of all I want to thank you for sharing your great and hard work! I’m always happy to see eager fans translate japanese games for ones who have a difficult time with the language and give them a chance to enjoy it too!

    I tried to download the updated patch, but it seems the .zip-file is corrupted when I tried to open it. Can you please reupload it? Thank you!

  20. I believe i did everything the directions said right, but an error message pops up when i try to start the game saying, “The program can’t start because cv210.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.” i did try to reinstall but it did not work. I’m not sure if i did it wrong. I’ve downloaded a few otomes on my laptop before but I’m definitely not confident in say i did everything right. Please help me! ;;;;;

  21. this might sound a little dumb, but what am i supposed to do with arc files? should i extract those too and then will there be a shortcut to play the game? I don’t really get how to put stuff in my program files either, just my downloads folder… should it have gone into programs? (i’m referring to both the main game and the patches) i’m new to all this!

    • hello. you must have a copy of the game itself to the patch to work. after that, follow the instructions in the .txt file, which will require you to put those .arc files in the game’s program files folder. just copy and paste it like usual. please tell me if it works for you.

  22. Hi! I did everythig as instruction stated but I still cannot run the game. I have my system re-located to Japan too. I tried to re-install it all twice already and it still doesn’t work. If it’s not too much trouble, could you please tell me what could be wrong?
    Everytime I try to run the game I get this:

    • Sorry for the late reply. On your language settings, I think you have to set Japanese as the main one and other languages as the second. It’s a bit complicated for Windows 10 but make sure there’s a “J” sign on your taskbar before running the game, signifying that you have changed your primary language to JP. I had the same problem as well before and this works for me.

  24. hello hello!!! this is extremely late, but when i play the game and go down the human story path, its all translated very nicely, but when i go back and choose the choices for the ayakashi story path, it’s all in japanese. it’s weird because no matter how far i skip (well, in my case i skipped up at least till we meet the twins.) and theres no translation. ;___;. it’s very odd. thank you for translating this game and i hope you can help me! 💖

  28. Hi! I’ve completed all the characters in the Human route ( I’m following the ‘suggested order’) and started the Ayakashi route. However, the start of the Ayakashi route is all in Japanese. I’ve tried unistalling and installing again but nothing worked.

  33. Hello, I’ve tried copying and pasting the .arc files into the disc containing the game, but everytime I try it says that there’s not enough space in the disc. I’ve also tried copying the files from the disc into a new folder and replacing the .arc files in there but the eng patch still doesn’t work? Can anyone tell me how to copy the .arc files into the game’s directory if the disc won’t allow me to paste anything in there.

    • Hi. You must do the installation first from the disc containing the game. After that, you go to the file location of the game that is installed on your computer, where you can paste the .arc files there, instead on the disc itself. ^^

    First things first, I want to thank you guys for making it possible for us to play the game in English! I’m really excited to finally being able to understand everything！

    That been said, I have a little (well, maybe big?) problem with the patch archive. I don’t know if this only happens to me but, when I try to download the files and unzip them, it’s says that the content it’s corrupted. I checked out the details on the drive and the info says exactly the same thing :(；ﾞﾟ’ωﾟ’):

    I don’t know if it’s my computer or something over here on my device (wouldn’t be surprised, since I haven’t seen any comment describing the same thing happening to them) but I wanted to let you know in case it’s true, and of course, in the hopes of you helping me out ヽ(；▽；)ノ

  38. Hi, firts i want to thank you for translating the game. I was playing and when i finish the prologue, the game goes japanese again. I tried re-patching the chip and riot archives, but didnt work. I tried to download the patch 1010 from the http://www.honeybee-cd.com/ayakashi/patch.html but the link its down, so i was wondering if you have this patch, i cant find it anywhere. I’ve played the Starry Sky games before (the last titles in Spanish because of copyright issues) and didn’t expect to see more from this company translated. I have changed my computer to Japanese scale and the game is able to run in the Japanese version. But the texts are still in Japanese even after I install the official patch.exe and replace the Rio.arc, Rio+.arc and Chip.arc. Which step did I miss? Thank you so much in advance!

  43. Greetings. First, I’d like to thank you for translating this game and sharing it with others. However, I am running into an error upon launching the game. And as I typed this I figured it out! Apparently this game does not like running in 1440p. Just figured I should leave the comment here in case anyone else has the problem. I ran it in 1080p and it worked fine.

    • Actually, it seems I didn’t figure it out, though the game does launch in certain circumstnaces. The game crashes upon running in fullscreen, and running it in windowed mode causes it to be cut off, and I cannot move the game window. It looks to be some kind of “Directdraw” error, so some kind of graphics bug? I’d appreciate any help, and apologize for the multiple comments.

  44. Feel free to delete my comment spam. NOW I figured it out. In the game’s pre-launch settings, don’t go higher than 1080p and set it to 32-bit colors only. Also set computer’s display resolution to 1080p. Just to be safe I also didn’t change the default install directory. This managed to stop it from crashing when going fullscreen and the window was able to be moved. This game does not want to work on 1440p displays!
