Killer Queen

Killer Queen Cover

Summary

13 players are locked inside an abandoned building, each with a PDA representing a playing card from A to K and a collar device set around their necks. Each of the 13 PDAs correspond to a different set of objectives, and if a player doesn’t fulfill their PDA’s objectives in 72 hours, their collar will explode.

No one knows who has which PDA, and players are at a disadvantage if they proceed alone. But in this deadly game filled with mistrust and paranoia, who can you trust … ?

NOTE: This game is rated 18+ for sexual content, while the non-ero option mode is not recommended for anyone under the age of 17 (see below for more details).

KNOWN BUGS

Note: The following are bugs we were unable to fix.

1. Whenever you try to “hide the textbox”, while the textbox itself will disappear, the “Save/Load/Options, etc” tags will still remain. This is due to a conversion difference between NScripter and ONScripter, and therefore there is nothing we can do about it.

2. In the backlog, character names longer than six letters will stretch out into the backlog itself and cover the text. This is due to the fact that the original Japanese version had character names be only about 2-3 characters long, and any attempts at fixing this would ruin the textbox formatting itself.

DOWNLOAD

(Note: This patch is compatible with both the original and Reprint versions of this game, but uses the Reprint version’s images and interface.)

Patch 1.00

Downloading instructions:

1. Download the patch folder or files.

2. Extract the files into your Killer Queen folder by allowing it to create a new subfolder. If the process goes as planned, then the subfolder should be named “KillerQueen-en”. If this doesn’t work for whatever reason, then create a new subfolder in your Killer Queen folder (name it whatever you like) and extract the files into that folder.

Note that the files MUST go into a subfolder, and must NOT go into the main Killer Queen folder. This means that you must NOT replace the original files with the ones with the same names in the “KillerQueen-en.zip”. If you do this by mistake, then you will get no music/images/sound, only text, and will be forced to reinstall the game all over again.

3. Click “KillerQueen.exe” in the subfolder to play.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

GORE CENSORSHIP PATCH

This game contains two CGs that contain what could be considered to be excessive gore. While we personally do not believe the content displayed in these images is particularly extreme, we also understand that there are some people who are disturbed by such images. Therefore, we have included a patch that replaces these CGs with mosaic versions that place mosaics on the gory parts (while leaving the rest of the image intact). To use this patch, just download the below link and extract it into your Killer Queen English subfolder.

Gore Censorship Patch

The first gore CG is also shown in the OP, so we made a censored version. Unfortunately, ONScripter can’t play it for some reason, but if you’d still like to watch the OP and can’t handle gore, here’s the link. (You probably shouldn’t watch the OP before finishing the VN though. It contains some pretty major spoilers.):

Censored OP

NON-ERO OPTION DETAILS

Our patch includes the option to disable the ero content in the game. To do this, go to the Options menu and go to the “Ero Content” option to switch it off (the Ero Content option is switched to “On” by default). By turning the ero content off, the following changes occur in the game:

(Note: Due to a typo in the programming, the ero content is actually switched to “Off” by default, meaning you’ll have to switch it to “On” if you want to see the ero content. We apologize for this mistake, and promise to have it fixed for the 1.01 patch.)

1. All H-Scenes are removed (however, references to the H-Scenes themselves remain). This is done by doing a “fade to black” effect just before the H-Scene begins and fading back in right after it ends.

2. All CGs depicting nudity have been removed. In some cases, they’ve been replaced with sprites from the normal game.

3. Several lines that make explicit references to sexual content or are explicitly sexual have been either censored or removed.

4. The CG Gallery has all images depicting nudity or sexual acts removed.

5. The Memories mode is altered so that it replays each route’s epilogues instead of their H-Scenes while in non-ero mode.

However, in spite of this, the game still contains heavy sexual themes and graphic depictions of violence even in this mode, so we do not recommend that anyone under the age of 17 play this game even with the ero content switched off.
