While the country does not boast much in the way of power, the people of Akitsushima are a warrior race, who hold pride in the fact that their country has never once been defeated since its' creation. In all of Akitsushima, the girl Kashima Hikari alone is feared as the strongest at the sword. For the sake of her country, she has traveled to Laurentia to steal the seed of the hero. 

She challenges the hero to a duel, but the power of the hero reaches directly to her (to her womb), and she inadvertently drops her katana. But for samurai of Akitsushima, one's katana is an object more important than their life. As such, Hikari admits her defeat.
