A skilled half-elf shaman who leaves her forest of Brightleaf Elves to find the source of a global distortion of spirit energy. Her half-elf heritage means the elves who raised her never fully accepted her into their community forcing her to work hard at honing her affinity with the spirits in hopes of fully integrating with her peers.

Shortly after she leaves her forest, she is picked up by the veteran adventurer dwarf Gilliam and joins his adventuring party to Ishgalia. Gilliam and his fellow adventurers bring Nemu along on their expeditions, but she feels guilty as she trips them up on many occasions.

Nemu shows hostility to Edna when in her presence, although the feeling of antipathy is not mutual.

 Nemu hails from the same forest as Edna and is aware of Edna's true identity. The reason behind Nemu's evident dislike of Edna is her initial perception which many in her forest shared that Edna had escaped her responsibilities when she sneaked away from her forest. /

Possesses a huge appetite and a peculiar sense of taste (Edna attributes the latter to Nemu's half-elf heritage). Nemu herself believes the intake of food is one of the most important actions in life.

Despite her youthful appearance, she is actually 87 years old but looks younger because of the influence of her long-lived Elven blood. Her ears are also slightly shorter than most elves but longer than those of humans.
